LA HAP Uninsured

Louisiana Health Access Program for Uninsured (LA HAP)

Louisiana uses ADAP funds to provide medication and insurance services through LA HAP.

ADAP stands for AIDS Drug Assistance Programs which is a funding source available through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that can be used to provide access to medications for uninsured individuals and assistance with cost shares for insured individuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who meets ALL the criteria below can apply for LA HAP.

  • Documented HIV diagnosis
  • Louisiana residency
  • Household Income below 500% of the Federal Poverty Guideline
  • Not eligible for full Medicaid
    • In Louisiana, full Medicaid is open to anyone with an income below 138% of the Federal Poverty Guideline who meets U.S. citizenship requirements, is between the ages of 19 and 64, and doesn't already qualify for Medicare.

You can fill your prescriptions through any pharmacy in Louisiana in the SGRX uninsured network. To see a list of all pharmacies in the SGRX network that approved to dispense prescriptions, use the Pharmacy Locator at the link below.

In order to process your medications (prescriptions) at a participating SGRX pharmacy, the pharmacy will need your LA HAP ID card and valid prescriptions.
